With a range of up to one mile and a 180 to 360 degree arc of coverage, these compact, high powered speakers are offering unprecedented clarity for U.S., U.K. and Canadian military forces. Made by Technomad Military PA Systems of Boston, the systems can be linked to provide voice and music over an area of 10 square miles or more.

The systems, which come pre-wired, can be set up in 15 minutes. They are designed for multiple missions, including psychological operations, tent cities, refugee camps, on board ships and training facilities.

According to a spokesman, speech intelligibility is superior to traditional horn speakers, which are hampered by “inherent distortion and narrow audio bandwidth.”
