Mask Offers Long Term Bird Flu Protection

A bird flu protection kit that relies on a reusable silicone respirator is being produced by Safety Equipment America of Branford, Conn. The package also includes a fit check disk, re-usable P-100 filter, identification tag and disinfection tub/storage box.

A spokesman says the respirator effectively seals the face from contamination, adding that filters and mask can be disinfected with alcohol and have been rated to endure up to four disinfections a day for 18 months.
