Commercial Smartphones Made Secure
Edited by Robert H. Williams
Commercial, off the shelf smartphones can now be made secure by a software-based solution. Snapshield Ltd. of Tel Aviv, Israel, a subsidiary of Tadiran Communications, has marketed Snapshot to protect CDMA-based telephones.
Snapshop currently is designed for smartphones with the Windows Mobile operating systems, but officials said other versions will be tailored for Symbian, Linux and Blackberry systems through the balance of this year and into 2007.
Secure communications can be achieved between two subscribers or over a network.
