Gun Demonstrator Advancing Ordnance Art

A modular gun demonstrator—crafted by Applied Ordnance Technology Inc. and Advanced Power Technology Inc.—was put through its paces at the Navy’s Dahlgren division terminal test range. Twenty-five successful shots were fired, officials said.

The modular gun demonstrator is being developed to provide the U.S. military with a system to advance gun, projectile, propulsion and ammunition technology. It is serving in several critical areas, including large-caliber hypervelocity research and next generation projectiles and propellants.
