Would You Believe Space Weather Forecasts?

The Air Force Weather Agency has perfected a space weather modeling capability that offers 72-hour forecasts from near earth to 40,000 miles out in space. These graphical depictions, officials say, will help minimize disruption on satellite systems and communications in the hurly-burly of storms in outer space.

The magnetospheric model also will alert high frequency and radar users on the ground of solar interruptions.
