Eye in Sky Has Microwave Receiver On the Ground
Robert H. Williams
An improved, digital microwave video receiver has been developed for troops
and law enforcement personnel. The handheld device has a 7-inch liquid crystal
display monitor that allows operators on the ground to see the same panorama
witnessed by a pilot in the sky.
The Carry Viewer II, produced by BMS, was designed in response to users who
demanded a smaller, easier to use hand-held receiver.
“Its portability and ease of use allow the Carry-Viewer II to be taken
out of the car and into the field. A picture is worth a thousand words. There
is no better way to describe what the pilots see than with live video,”
said Steve Yanke, the company’s western regional law enforcement and public
sales manager.
