Lockheed Martin’s video from unmanned aerial systems for interoperability teaming (VUITT) is allowing Apache gunship pilots to receive in their cockpits streaming battlefield information from unmanned aerial vehicles.
The system also has been used to stream imagery to Stryker ground-vehicle crews on patrol, which alerts them to nearby danger zones. It can also provide Apache and unmanned aircraft video to troops on the ground via the mini-tactical common data link.
VUITT, which has already received combat testing, can be installed on multiple aircraft platforms, Lockheed says.
