Low Profile, Light Hydration Packs Attach to Vests

By Robert H. Williams

The makers of Armorbak Hydration Series in response to recommendations from soldiers in the field have produced four hydration packs that attach directly to a soldier’s personal armor.

Made by Camelbak of Petaluma, Calif., these recently designed systems eliminate the need to wear shoulder straps or to tie the hydration source to an armor vest. Hunter Shoop, product manager at CamelBak, said that soldiers complained that they wanted to attach their CamelBak to their body armor but were cutting up their packs when trying to remove the improvised attachments. “The final product addresses all of the soldiers concerns,” he said.

The packs are made from lightweight material and have a lower profile, which allows users to sit upright in vehicles.
