
Handheld US of Corvallis, Ore., is offering a feature packed, rugged personal digital assistant to the military and first responders who demand connectivity in the harshest conditions. The M3 Mobile comes with an array of applications, including an integrated barcode scanner, WLAN, Bluetooth, camera, GSM/EDGE cellular and global positioning system.
Built on the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform with Intel X-scale 520 megahertz processor, the compact device boasts 128 megabytes of random access memory, 128 megabytes of built-in flash storage and a slot for memory expansion. The color display has a touchscreen and ergonomic keypad.
Another plus, says a spokesman, is a rechargeable, hot-swappable lithium polymer battery.
