Troops in Iraq now have access to a voice-to-voice translator that was developed by IWT Inc. and Laguna Industries Inc., two California technology companies.
Users, who include Army, Special Forces, Marine, Coast Guard and Navy personnel, simply speak into the Voice Response Translator. They are able to issue short instructions or ask brief questions to Iraqi citizens.
The hands-free operation allows soldiers to communicate while remaining alert and weapons ready.
