Portable Shield Saving Lives in Iraq

Defense Shield Inc. of East Syracuse, N.Y., is manufacturing mobile defensive fighting positions (MDFPs) for Marines and Army soldiers. The structures provide cover and protection from small arms fire, and offer a clear range of view of approaching enemy personnel.
A Marine Corps official notes that MDFPs already have saved several Marines from death or serious injury in Iraq.
