The M-9 Assault Medical Backpack, which is three inches thick, was designed to allow medical personnel to “sit safely and comfortably on a vehicle or aircraft and to maneuver through narrow openings,” according to a spokesman for Tactical & Survival Specialties Inc. of Harrisonburg, Va.
The pack has a main compartment with four modular pockets that can be relocated or adjusted as needed. Also included are two interchangeable inside panels, a drain hole and storable waist and shoulder straps.
Velcro patches permit the attachment of infrared identifiers.
The pack was designed by an Army Special Forces medic.
