Sweden’s
Bofors Dynamics has chosen Trijicon to produce magnified combat
optics for its new lightweight antitank weapon that is being acquired
by British and Swedish ground forces.
The sight and related energy source for the handheld, fire-and-forget
missile launcher is designed to be operational for 20 years. Officials
add that sight calibration will be done during the assembly process
and never again.
As for the weapon itself, officials say it autonomously makes its
way to an armored vehicle without regard to target angular speed,
wind or temperature.
Thales Air Defense Ltd., in Belfast, Northern Ireland, will assemble
the weapon.
