The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority selected Lockheed
Martin as the prime contractor to upgrade its electronic security
operations infrastructure. The authority oversees the New York City
Transit System, Long Island Railroad, Metro North Railroad and MTA
bridges and tunnels.
The company will be responsible for the development and deployment
of a critical infrastructure protection system that integrates command,
communications and control capabilities across MTA facilities.
The three-year contract is valued at $212 million. It includes
maintenance options that could extend the program through September
2013.
Lockheed will lead a team of contractors that includes Arinc Incorporated,
Slattery Skanska USA Civil Inc., Systra Engineering, Intergraph
Corporation, Cubic Corporation and Lenel Systems International Inc.
