A
360-degree inspection and sorting machine now is available to help
ensure the quality of fasteners, screw parts, ammunition and related
cylindrical parts. The General Inspection LLC product line relies
on a variety of sensors—laser, vision and eddy current technology—depending
on the job at hand.
Even small defects in critical parts are detectable. Those that
do not come up to snuff are “rejected and all external part
dimensions from every part are displayed and stored in memory,”
says a spokesman. “Anyone who can read a blueprint simply
enters the dimensions and tolerances. After an initial set up, part
numbers can be recalled and the system is ready to use again, even
by unskilled operators.”
