A Carmel, Ind., company is producing a quick deployment, wireless surveillance
package that is designed for police departments and security firms. The compact,
battery-operated Quick Talk vS relies on an integrated radio transmitter with
a voice storage capability and a magnetometer that can detect vehicles within
a 24-foot zone.
“The Quick Talk vS,” said a RITRON Inc. spokesman, “senses
any approaching vehicle—cars, trucks, motorcycles, all terrain vehicles,
golf carts, and even bicycles and transmits your prerecorded voice message alert
over a two-way radio system up to a mile away. Since the system talks to your
two-way radio, it allows mobile monitoring anywhere within the range of the
transmitter.”
Additionally, through the use of a radio repeater, it can transmit “relatively
long distances to headquarters or some other command and control center,”
he said.
