Compact, 8,000 watt, direct current/direct current and alternating current/direct current power converter modules by Schaefer Inc. of Ashland, Mass., are being tailored for military and industry uses.

The extremely high power density converters have applications in railway controls/communications equipment, alternative energy sources, transportation and process control systems.

The water cooled CW5300 Series have remote sensing and over voltage and current limit protection, says a spokesman. He notes that there are various customization options available to potential users.
