Lighter, Environmentally Friendly Generators Unveiled
Edited by Robert H. Williams
Seven new PowerSource generators — ranging from 94 to 570 kVA — have been introduced by Ingersoll Rand of Davidson, N.C. Featuring a foot print up to 30 percent smaller than previous generators, lowered pollution emissions and reduced noise levels, the portable units are designed for powering compressors, pumps and other devices with high startup demands.
The generators have controls and connection points grouped on a pedestal at the back of the units, which offers both convenience and safety for operators, says the company. They are enclosed in 14-gauge steel enclosures and are covered in high gloss powder paint to provide protection against corrosion. They also do not require a separate trailer for movement.
